Due to renewed interest in ceiling crocodiles/alligators, brought on by a recent io9 post, as well as due to Batgrl's post* that inspired me to make this in the first place, I share with you:

A Mini Ceiling Croc-Gator!!

Obviously, this is not hanging from the ceiling, but rather from the underside of one of my bookshelves, which are sort of my own personal wunderkammer.

Knitterly details are below the page break for those of you interested :)

*In addition to all the other cultural inclusions in the various links, I also want to mention that a ceiling croc/gator is also featured in the dungeon in the most awesome Reader Rabbit 2nd Grade Mac game from the '90s, which you can see here.

  • Pattern used: Baby Gators from Mochimochi Land's blog

  • Yarn & Needles: Old worsted/aran weight olive green acrylic, and dk-ish weight pink; US size 8 (5 mm) DPNs.

  • Mods: ~Substituted pink for yellow in the mouth~Duplicate stitched eyes with pink, as I didn't have any plastic eyes/buttons that would work~Rather than working the legs separately, then sewing them on, I picked the stitches right up from the body, using the photos as a rough guide~Chain: With size G/4.25 mm hook & sparkly gold acrylic, chain 35. Fasten off and use tails to sew to back of head and tail transition.
